Group N covers Production Touring cars and Improved Touring cars built before 31st December 1972 and which are representative of the regulations in force at the time. This Group is split into three time periods defined as: – Group Na (pre 1958) and Group Nb (pre 1965) originally called Appendix J – Group Nc (1966-1972) representing vehicles that raced in the categories originally called Improved Touring and Series Production. Cars are not required to have a competition history. See the CAMS groups by clicking here See the CAMS rules and regulations by clicking here Very few if any Appendix J cars survive. Basically they were a road car driven to the track and home again. Most returned to their mundane lives after a blast at the track. Please…

The application must be accompanied by either a Victorian RWC or a statement of suitability for the vehicle to be driven on the road under Club registration. 4. The Championships
Competing in Historic Touring Cars Race Championships The Club sets a calendar of Victorian race meetings. Five of the competitor’s best results are counted for the annual total. Championships titles are available for overall Club Champion, the ‘Golden Oldies’ Champion awarded over Victoria’s three CAMS-officiated historic meetings, and for each capacity class for Group Nb and Nc. As well, a trophy is awarded for the Historic Touring Car winner of the Victorian State Race series and there are prized individual Club perpetual awards as well. Click here for ALL race reports Speed Championships Members can score points in their choice of non-race competition such as hill climbs, club sprints and regularity events. There is no need for special race cars, racing licences or strict capacity compliance. This Championship was introduced in 2008. Rally Championships Introduced in 2009, the HTCAV National Rally Championship will be awarded to the Club Member with the best result in pre-73 Touring Car in an Australian tarmac rally. Race Numbers
Competition Numbers. No-one owns a number, but we understand how nice it is to have a regular one on your car. Ultimately the Chief Steward or Race Sectary of the meeting issue the numbers for each event. However the Club tries to allocate numbers to our members to save members money and angst. Many events do not allow triple digit numbers, so that leaves 180+ competition members vying for 99 numbers. We often supply a list of the HTCAV member numbers to promoters of Victorian meetings. In most cases they will give preference to the HTCAV member for those allocated numbers on the list over other entrants. The same rules apply interstate which is why you often end up with a different number when your race interstate. As stated above we have more competitors than we do numbers. While not all competitive members require numbers, we have used all 99 and we still need to keep allocating more. To have a number allocated u0026#038; retained you must Be a continous financial member and Use the number at least once every 2 years. These rules still do not guarantee you exclusive usage of a number! They have been devised as way…
